A personal mission turned structured programme — empowering Bangladesh's rural poor one goat at a time.
GoatProject was born from a simple observation: many rural families in Bangladesh have the land, the knowledge, and the will to raise livestock — but not the capital to buy their first animal. A single goat, costing roughly ৳8,000–৳10,000, can transform a family's financial situation by providing milk, offspring for sale, and long-term breeding stock.
Rasel Ahmed started this programme with his own savings, believing that a direct, transparent, and dignified model works better than large charitable bureaucracies. Every taka spent goes directly to purchasing the goat. There is zero overhead.
The programme targets families with a monthly income of less than ৳20,000 — typically day labourers, small farmers, and garment workers in rural upazilas.
We verify income and family need before every donation. No box-ticking — real people, real need.
Every beneficiary, date, and cost is published on this website from our live Google Sheet.
The pay-it-forward model means returned baby goats go directly to the next family — the cycle never stops.
"Return the first baby goat when it is 3 months old or independently eating — then the original goat and everything after belongs to you."
Receive the goat
Verified family gets a healthy adult goat
First kid born
Family raises it until 3 months old or independently eating
Kid returned & re-donated
The returned baby goat is donated to the next family in need — the chain continues
Own everything forever
Original goat and all future offspring belong to the family permanently
No loans. No interest. No paperwork. The returned kid doesn't sit idle — it goes straight to the next family on our list.
A small, dedicated team running a lean operation where every taka counts.
Founder & Sole Funder
Rasel personally funds every goat purchase. The programme runs entirely on his private capital until the 1,000-goat milestone is reached.
Project Co-ordinator & Purchase Manager
Sozol coordinates field operations — identifying eligible families, verifying their situation, purchasing the goats, and ensuring smooth delivery.
Finance Manager
Sajib manages all financial records — tracking expenditure, documenting goat costs, and maintaining the spreadsheet that powers this website.
Rasel Ahmed funds every goat personally. Zero outside donations accepted. Full transparency via public spreadsheet. Building trust through verifiable results.
Once we demonstrate impact at scale — 1,000 goats delivered, records published — we will open a transparent donation channel for anyone who wants to participate.
With sustained public support, grow into a community-driven project, expand to other livestock (cows, chickens), and build a network of community coordinators across Bangladesh.
