Goat Project

About the Goat Project

A mission rooted in empathy, driven by transparency, and sustained by community.

Our Mission

The Goat Project was born from a simple observation: many low-income families in rural Bangladesh lack access to sustainable income sources. A single goat — properly cared for — can transform a family's economic situation through milk production, offspring sales, and asset building.

Our approach is different. We don't give money. We give productive assets. And we ask for one simple thing in return: when your goat has its first baby (at around 3 months), return it so we can help another family. You keep the original goat and every offspring after the first.

The Agreement

Each beneficiary agrees to return the first baby goat at 3 months. That's it. They keep the original goat and all future offspring. This one simple agreement keeps the cycle of giving alive and makes the entire program self-sustaining over time.

Our Values

Targeted

We focus exclusively on families earning less than ৳20,000/month — those who will benefit most from a reliable income source like livestock.

Transparent

Every beneficiary, every cost, and every progress update is published publicly on this website. No hidden overhead.

Self-Sustaining

The pay-it-forward model means the program grows organically. Each first baby goat returned funds the next family.
